Joe Brent is a composer and mandolinist who has been hailed as "one of the truly exceptional musicians of his generation," and whose music has been described as "bursting with emotion ... (It) touches and communicates what it means to be an alive, feeling human being." He has performed with classical ensembles such as the Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, International Contemporary Ensemble, and Speculum Musicae, as well as pop and improvising artists Regina Spektor, Jewel, Kishi Bashi, and Stephane Grappelli. His own ensemble, 9 Horses, was the inaugural winner of the 21CM LAUNCH: Emerging Artists Competition.

Found Sound Nation is a collective of artists who use music-making to connect people across cultural divides. Partnering with local youth, social organizations, music festivals and artists across all disciplines, their work emphasizes a mobile approach to recording and producing professional-quality music.
