Heiner Goebbels’ “Surrogate Cities”

April 25 - April 26

Heiner Goebbels’ “Surrogate Cities” – described by The Guardian as a “vast, unclassifiable piece” – is performed by the Seattle Symphony, which also has the honor of premiering a new composition woven into the existing material.

21CM Takeaway: This “multimedia extravaganza” combines the orchestra with electronics, singers and texts by novelists Paul Auster and Hugo Hamilton to present a soundscape of the modern city and the implications that urban living has for our inner lives.
